One of the most powerful Etruscan cities, where Tarquinio Prisco, one of the seven kings of Rome, was born. The underground tombs of the main cemetery of the ancient town, the Necropolis of Monterozzi, are absolutely suggestive and unique for their paintings. The subjects of these frescoes are a real narration with lively colours of the life and habits of one of the people of the Mediterranean Sea, a cradle of cultures in continuous exchanges and transformation. The next place will be the National Museum, one of the richest in Etruria. Besides the Etruscan art, Tarquinia offers also beautiful Medieval corners.
